The grape requires special handling to tame its tendency toward high tannin and acidity. Light colored due to less pigment from its thin grape skins we treat it like Pinot Noir, maximizing skin contact during fermentation and ageing in previously used cooperage. Red varieties benefit from ideal sun exposure and exhibit nuanced flavors of their elevated mountain site in Paso Robles’ Adelaida District. Anna’s 2013 Reserve Syrah brings a nose of fresh blueberry, juicy raspberry and dark blackberry together.
